WIPO eliminates paper from domain name dispute resolution proceedings

8 January 2010

The World Intellectual Property Organization eliminates the obligation, in force until now, to file and notify ongoing claims in hard copy.

This is WIPO’s attempt to reduce the time and expense involved in domain name dispute resolution proceedings and they calculate that around one million sheets of paper will be saved each year.

This new form of procedural management will allow for on-line control of the process while at the same time contributing to a healthier environment.
