Gustavo Yanes is a tax lawyer with over 20 years of experience, specializing in international taxation and complex tax advisory. He has advised investment funds, financial institutions, multinational groups, and high-net-worth individuals, and has extensive experience in tax litigation and tax procedures before both the Spanish Tax Authorities and the Spanish courts, including the Supreme Court and the National High Court. He is currently Head of the Tax Practice at Monereo Meyer Abogados.
He holds a Law Degree and a Postgraduate Diploma in European Union Law, with a specialization in Economic Law, from the Europa-Institut (Germany), as well as postgraduate Master’s-level studies in Taxation and International Taxation from the Centro de Estudios Financieros in Madrid. He also holds a Professional Certificate in “Legal Tech” issued jointly by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and ESADE, focused on digital business development.
Gustavo Yanes is a member of the Madrid Bar Association (ICAM), a former member of the Executive Committee of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA), and the exclusive WIRAS member in Madrid. He is also a professor of taxation in the Sports Management and Business Administration faculties at Universidad Europea as well as serving as a lecturer in the Master’s Programme at the Real Madrid University School in International Sports Management (Tax Law section).
He is currently the editor of the Direct Taxation section of the “Derecho & Impuestos” newsletter of the German Chamber of Commerce in Spain (AHK) and co-author of the Spain chapters of Corporate Tax 2024 and Private Client 2024, published by Legal 500 and ICLG. He regularly speaks at conferences organized by foreign chambers of commerce in Spain.
From 2019 to 2026, Gustavo Yanes has been consistently recognized for his work in the tax field by the “Best Lawyers” directory”.
